Limenas

Limenas, also known as Thassos Town, is the island’s historically- and culturally-rich capital. Here you will find all of the facilities that you would expect from a Greek island, as well as many more that you would not expect to find!

Here you will find the local museum, numerous antiquities - beautifully excavated and explained, and access to the ancient theatre and Acropolis. It is located in a sheltered bay, with the densely wooded green hills of the island all around, offering walks in and around its winding streets or further out into the mountains or around the coast to the other bays. It is absolutely ideal for anybody who wants to be close to the action, as well as being part of a traditional community, able to find quiet areas and chat with the locals, as well as finding secluded bays, only a few moments walk or drive away.
