The most popular destination on Thassos is undoubtedly the Bay of Golden beach and in particular the bay of Skala Potamia. The famous beach is 2.5 Km in length and several dozen meters in width and is covered by fine golden/yellow sand inside and outside of the sea. It is surrounded by olive trees and the lush green mountains.

In this beautiful location, the adults can entertain themselves with various activities and enjoy the scenery, while the children play casually in a safe environment.

Many family-run local taverns serve fresh fish straight from the fishing boat or local meats as well as delicious vegetarian dishes. There are, of course, fast food shops, as well as grocery stores. Food purchased from the groceries can provide the visitor with anything they need to be cooked and prepared in their kitchen. A local drink is strong tsipouro, a distillate of indigenous red grapes.

Entertainment options vary, satisfying every desire and mood. The regular local bus service connects Skala Potamia with the rest of the island. Banking is serviced 24 hours by 1 ATM, located near the gas station.

The capital Limenas is just 11 Km to the north. At an equal distance to the south is the famous Paradise Beach followed by the renowned beaches of Alykes and Giola, the natural seawater pool. Next to these sites is the imposing female Monastery of Archangel Michael, which is built on the steep rocky shore.

On the green low hill above Skala Potamias Beach, there are beautiful villas built by owners who prefer a quiet location few hundred meters from the shore. There you enjoy the scenery while avoiding the potential problems of crowding.

Newly built in 2019, the villa has a private swimming pool, spacious terraces and a yard for relaxing by the pool, Free Wi-Fi, three HD Smart TVs, and gated private parking for 1 car. More parking is available next to the country road outside of the gate.

The villa consists of 3 levels and comfortably sleeps 18 people (ideal for 12 adults and 6 children). Each level is independent from the other and has a private entrance.

All spaces are air-conditioned and every kitchen is fully equipped with electric ovens/stovetops, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.

The living rooms provide ample space with versatile sofas that can be slept on.

The very quiet location is perfect for nature lovers and is only a short walking distance from the sandy beach, bakeries, shops, traditional restaurants, super markets, nightlife, and more.
